Trade is the foundation of the Outspace economy. All transactions are carried out through offers, which you can place on marketplaces or at trade terminals.

Buying

Trade Terminals

Most stations are equipped with local trade terminals. On newly built stations, you’ll need to construct one first. These terminals may be called “Marketplace” or “Trade Deck” depending on the station type.

Terminals are unmanned and come with their own storage.

Types of Trade Systems

Station Marketplace

Used for local buying and selling. You can place your own offers or purchase from others.

TradeLink

An interplanetary network where offers are listed and searchable across the entire system.

Viewing Offers

All ships can access TradeLink. Open it with the [T] key.

To see local offers only, open the “Trade” service from the station’s service menu.

Making a Purchase

Select an item and click “Order”.
Set the quantity (some offers may not allow this — it depends on the seller).
Choose whether to load the goods directly onto your ship (free) or store them at the station (with a fee).

Things to Watch Out For

Check the station’s transaction fees.
Storage purchases may incur additional storage fees.
When buying via TradeLink from a remote station, check the distance, dock access, and your standing with the station owner.
Purchased goods are non-refundable. Make sure you have enough cargo space for pickup.

Selling

Creating Your Own Offer

Open the “Trade” service at the station and go to the “Sell” tab.
Select the goods — they must be either on your active ship or in station storage (not both).
Set the price, quantity, and minimum order size.
The system will calculate the station fee. If you own the station, the fee revenue goes to its account.
Choose the visibility level — local only or also through TradeLink.

Withdrawing funds from a station you own incurs a significant fee.

Offers gradually lose visibility. After about 20 days, the advertisement expires. The offer remains active but is no longer broadcast via TradeLink.

You can manage your offers:

at the station where they were created,
via TradeLink (if still active),
from the menu: Enterprise → Overview → Offers.

To see all offers across the universe, open the menu Enterprise → Overview → Offers.

Use the Trade Map

In the Sector Map, you can browse and filter offers by location and item type as broadcasted by TradeLink.
