The Cult explains the existence of Disease X and the world affected by this disease as a place where Divine Fate is the inevitable guide of human destinies.

The Cult believes that Disease X is not a random infection, but rather Divine Fate. In their theology, Disease X is a punishment for the sins and impurity of human souls. The belief in Divine Fate gives the Cult moral authority in the fight against the disease and in the removal of those who are afflicted.

The Cult is able to perform rituals as part of worship services in sanctuaries on stations. These rituals aim to invoke Divine Intervention and reveal the damned. During the rituals, the infected may manifest loss of control or extreme aggression, which is seen as Divine Fate. Believers think that through these rituals, they can act against fate and cleanse society.

An alternative theory is the Prion Theory.
