Prions

The Prion Theory, supported by the followers of Humanity, presents a unique view on the origin and spread of Disease X, which has affected the human population. This theory distinguishes Humanity from the Cult, which focuses on the spiritual and religious aspects of the disease.

Prions are minuscule protein particles, the basic building blocks of living organisms. Infectious prions are those that have harmful effects on the organism.

A prion is neither a bacterium nor a virus; it is a protein. It cannot be treated, the body does not have an immune response to it, and disinfection cannot be used. A prion can withstand extreme cold without damage, temperatures up to 600 °C. In soil or air, it can survive for decades to centuries. Contact with an infectious prion always results in death. Prions in the human body cause brain tissue degeneration and have been known for centuries as the Kuru disease, which affected cannibals, or BSE – mad cow disease.

The Prion Theory of Disease X is based on the idea that infectious prions are responsible for the emergence and spread of this epidemic. Experiments with artificial intelligence in protein formation and the construction of synthetic organisms had the side effect of creating infectious prions. These prions then entered the human environment, contaminating habitats, food, water, and air, leading to the outbreak of Disease X.

The theory emphasizes that the disease spreads through station parasites, which can burrow through the shells of space stations. Some scientists also claim that cosmic monsters are the result of the same processes that took place on Earth.

According to the beliefs of Humanity, it is crucial to understand Disease X as a biological phenomenon that can be analyzed and overcome using scientific methods and technologies. This perspective embodies pragmatism and faith in the power of human knowledge and science. In contrast to the religious approach of the Cult, Humanity seeks solutions through technological innovation and scientific progress.

An alternative theory is the Judgement Theory.
