TES - Official Guide for Outspace Game

TES

Last update 29.09.2025

The abbreviation TES stands for Tactical, Engineering, Science. These are the three basic attributes that every object in the Outspace universe has – starting with the crew, through modules, weapons, monsters, and even space debris. The value is expressed as a large number and in most cases is added up. The value can also be negative.

Meaning

[T] (Tactical)

The Tactical modifier, marked in red, determines combat properties. It influences accuracy, inflicted damage, defense, the ability to dodge, or cover.

[E] (Engineering)

The Engineering value, marked in blue, determines the ability or difficulty of working with technical equipment. For example, production in a factory will require a high [E] value, as well as the ability to quickly reload a weapon. In the case of a ship module, a minimum [E] value may be set as a restriction for using the technology, as well as a maximum value that can be applied within the module.

[S] (Science)

The Science modifier, marked in green, applies mainly to research, medicine, or the operation of scientific equipment.

Usage

Example: the calculation of accuracy and damage on hit depends on the crew’s [T] Ship Weapons.

Ship modules have their TES values, and their sums determine certain properties of the ship.
