Biomass for consumption.

Biomass is processed organic material intended for further processing or direct consumption.

Usage

Each colonist born needs a certain amount of biomass, which they recycle throughout their life. This results in material that ensures their intake of nutrients and fluids. If a colonist does not have this amount available, they cannot be born, and the birth rate will stop.

Alternative

Biomass can be replaced with a less efficient raw material – specifically human remains. If biomass is lacking on the station but there are human remains in the cargo bay, the colonists will begin to consume them. The advantage of remains is that they come from older colonists, so even without your presence, the population is relatively self-sufficient. Logically, however, it cannot grow until you replenish the material on the station.

Where to obtain biomass

Buying supplies from corporations

Barrel of organic matter traded on the stock exchange.

The simplest way is to buy biomass from hypercorporations that produce it.

The amount of biomass offered is not large, but it is generally enough for the operation of a small station.

Refining Zla leftovers

Common organic material (C).
Rare organic material (B).
Extremely rare organic material (A).

Each unit of Zla is mainly made up of biological material known from Earth. The remaining parts of killed monsters can be refined in bioreactors and efficiently converted into biomass.

There are 3 types of organic materials that are sources of not only biomass.

Dead bodies

Human remains.

A colonist or astronaut leaves their body after death. It can be refined in bioreactors and converted into biomass.
