Workstation on Spacecraft Module

Last update 17.10.2025

Purpose

Most modules require a crew to operate. Workspaces are locations where the crew can operate the module.

Classification

Workspaces are divided into tactical, engineering, and scientific types. The total value of all workspaces of the module for the given attribute is always applied.

Tactical

Affects the accuracy of installed weapon fire.

Engineering (Technical)

Affects the reload speed of installed weapons.

Affects the efficiency of collection in gathering modules.

Scientific

Affects the efficiency of downloading and saving signals.

Requirements

Minimum TES

Workspaces have maximum and minimum TES values. A minimum T, E, or S value means that a crew member with a lower value cannot operate the workspace.

Maximum TES

The maximum T, E, or S value determines the highest attribute value that an astronaut assigned to the workspace can apply.

Value Calculation

The resulting value is calculated as the sum of the astronaut’s attribute value (capped by the workspace’s maximum) + the astronaut’s level.

Modules that are only partially staffed may suffer a penalty to the total value, depending on the proportion of unoccupied workspaces of that type.
