History

Over time, increasingly larger, more resilient, and more complex forms of hostile entities were recorded. During the same periods, signals containing more complex manufacturing plans also appeared more frequently.

Although signals were categorized according to their complexity and frequency, their origin remained unknown. Humanity gradually gained new knowledge, or rather rediscovered what had been lost, and refused to submit to unknown entities at its own doorstep.

It has not been proven whether there is a direct connection between these phenomena or whether this is merely a human tendency to seek patterns in a chaotic environment. Some theories suggest that the hostile entity merely exploits the occurrence of the signals.

The situation culminated on the day of an encounter with an entity located far from the center of the Solar System. This entity was capable of producing additional entities and was itself larger than human settlements. It was named after the biblical monster – Leviathan.

Communication systems aboard ships venturing into deep space, far from the disruptive radio noise of celestial bodies, began detecting strange "signals".

After careful analysis, it was determined that these signals originate from areas where no apparent source of transmission can be detected upon closer inspection. The signals appear and then, after several dozen hours, disappear again without explanation.

The positions of the signals are not fixed and cannot be tracked or archived long-term. Each occurrence is unique and unrepeatable.

The content of these signals consists of information about human technology that was forgotten on Earth. They contain complete manufacturing plans, wiring diagrams, and instructions for use.

The locations where the signals appear soon become highly sought after for their acquisition and use by corporations. The signal itself remains stable, but transferring it to local data media leads to rapid degradation of the information.

Media based on magnetic recording undergo rapid degradation in the space environment, and repeated reading during production further damages the data.

The first contact with an unknown entity, now commonly referred to as Evil, occurred on a now non-existent clasified station in Solar system. An unknown organism was found on the station’s hull, breached it, and infected the inhabitants with a horrific disease. Although the similarity to Disease X, which ravaged Earth toward the end of the "Event", was terrifying, the symptoms were slightly different, transforming humans and all organic life into something... inhuman.

Fearing the spread of the disease, the station was completely destroyed along with everything inside it. It was not long before every major station reported contact with a similar organism. This time, however, people were better prepared and managed to stop it before it could breach the hull. Further contacts followed.

There are many theories* regarding what these entities are and where they come from, but none have yet been conclusively proven.

After the event later generations simplified into the term "Event", Earth ceased to be capable of sustaining human life. It was not a war, a catastrophe, or a sudden collapse. It was the beginning of the quiet extinction of civilization.

Leaving the planet did not begin as an escape, but as a long-term process. At the height of prosperity, extensive orbital complexes, mining stations, and distant colonies already existed. These became refuges for small groups of people who left Earth before the Event. Humanity was no longer counted in billions. Only tens of thousands of scattered individuals remained.

Science and technological development decline. Small groups of survivors lack the capacity to secure sufficient production, let alone develop new technologies. Space became a catalyst for dystopia.

The remnants of civilization occupy stations with larger populations, but attacks by unknown organisms collectively referred to as Evil, piracy, ordinary crime, and a general shortage of almost everything are now shaping their existence.

People are no longer divided by nationality. Those who managed to settle split into two main paths. There are societies where faith in the Cult, its practices, and its spiritual authorities prevails. The opposite are places ruled by a scientific approach and critical thinking, driven by an unwavering belief in the preservation of humanity. These are the strongholds of Humanity. Profane power is held by the structure of hyper-corporations, which seek to use every available means in their competitive struggle for control over the ruins of the world.

Thus began a new age. Not as a renewal, but as survival. A civilization that left its home without ever truly understanding it.

Global conflicts escalate into an unstoppable phase. By this time, everyone understands that a civilized society built on blinding technology and an economy of infinite growth was only an illusion, and that the price of this blindness will be terrible.

The first corporations achieve spacefaring technology. We no longer know how this sudden technological leap forward was made possible. The main actors in research become astronomical and especially radiological observatories. The largest of them, a militant organization operating the Arecibo Observatory, patents several key technologies enabling long-term survival in space. Many other companies follow with similar or strikingly similar research results.

Ordinary corporations transform into organizations with their own structures and their own enforcement of laws. As power over life and death shifts from the governments of nations into corporate hands, the structure of society changes fundamentally. Each such corporation has its own laws, its own rules, and administers its own territory. These entities become known as hyper-corporations.

The most successful of them, if it can be called that, is the Cult. Thanks to its widespread presence since the beginning of the modern era and its infiltration of every place showing even the slightest sign of power before the rise of hyper-corporations, this step became almost inevitable.

The revelation of the Cult toward the end of the 20th century was one of the greatest awakenings for the humanistically oriented inhabitants of Earth.

Overwhelmed by the accelerating development of technological civilization, especially through the widespread use of electronics, people become blinded by the glow of their devices and completely isolated from the existence of evil. They convince themselves that it is merely a relic of the past and that everything can be explained rationally. Humanity reaches its peak, defining itself as a "civilized society".

Conflicts that have always existed become global through technology. For the first time, rapid technological progress also gives humanity the ability to annihilate itself.

The Cult becomes an organization of shadows; for ordinary people, its very existence is a conspiracy theory. In an effort to regain power, it transforms into organized crime. In the following decades, aspects of society such as mafias, dictatorships, and oligarchies are revealed to be manifestations of its influence.

Faith recedes into the background and is gradually replaced by the scientific approach. Phenomena that had for centuries been explained as possession or the influence of Evil begin to be classified as diseases and disorders of the human mind. The first institutions emerge, along with systematic attempts to study and treat these conditions. The number of recorded cases of possession drops sharply. To this day, however, it remains unclear whether this happened because science found explanations for them, or because only their classification changed.

The Cult is persecuted; there is no place for it in modern society and its members are hunted. Divided into numerous secret societies, it is now fully separated from churches and practices only its own secret rituals. It continues to attract new members, especially those hungry for power, to whom it still has much to offer. The Cult thus gradually infiltrates the most influential positions in society.

Fear of possession, unexplained diseases, and other phenomena associated with evil leads to the spread of exorcism and the Inquisition. At the same time, a network of secret societies grows stronger behind the scenes of religious organizations, which later historians associate with the Cult. The extent of its actual influence during this period remains unknown.

As a counterbalance, the first scientific approaches begin to emerge, and the scientific invention known as the "printing press" spreads rapidly among the population. What churches had accomplished over centuries, the printing press could achieve in months. Science becomes a popular alternative to spirituality, giving rise to the Age of Enlightenment.

By this time, society is firmly established and spiritual organizations are at the peak of their power. There is hardly a place on the planet without a religious faction possessing enormous influence and economic power, sometimes exceeding that of rulers themselves.

The first written records describing phenomena that some researchers today associate with what we call Evil date from this period. The texts speak of unexplained diseases, possessions, and sudden changes in the behavior of prominent figures within the religious organizations of the time. Similar cases were recorded in different parts of the world and gave rise to many forms of ritual exorcism. Whether these were manifestations of the same phenomenon has never been proven.

It is possible that Evil primarily targeted these groups because of their corruption and the possibility of controlling all of human society through them. The first written documents describing the spread of Evil begin to appear, both in the form of contemporary diseases and through possessions and the control of key figures of church power. Exorcism is practiced in all corners of the world.

Archaeological findings reveal a division of humanity into pragmatic and spiritually oriented parts of society. Rulers generally represented the profane part of society and, through military force and economic means, were able to control large numbers of subjects. Spiritual leaders, such as temple priests, established their own organizations that were largely exempt from the authority of rulers. The best-known examples include Egyptian temples housing cults dedicated to specific gods, or the Temple of Delphi in Greece, whose Sibyl priestesses were courted by rulers for their supposed ability to see the future. The growing influence of religious organizations over secular power becomes increasingly apparent.

The cradle of our civilization, Mesopotamia, emerges. The first writing systems and the first written laws originate here.

Agriculture becomes the primary means of subsistence instead of hunting and gathering. According to archaeological findings, humans develop the ability to communicate using more complex language for the first time, to plan sowing and harvesting, and thus inevitably to measure time.

Taş Tepeler, and the fact that people must have possessed this and far more knowledge thousands of years earlier, does not align with conventional science and is therefore excluded from it.

In the area now known as Taş Tepeler, the first human cities emerge, featuring stone sanctuaries showing signs of religious practices.

Reliefs appear on the pillars of these sanctuaries, depicting people interacting with an unknown substance resembling a dense liquid. According to these depictions, the liquid was considered sacred and was believed to transform humans into a higher state of being.
