Maintenance shows the condition of your station and how well your colony can take care of it. Every station needs a crew to repair damaged sections, deal with the aftermath of evil attacks, and prevent the station from slowly falling into decay.
The maintenance value shows how quickly the station is being repaired.
The higher the value, the faster damaged blocks return to working condition.
If maintenance is negative, the station begins to decay. Blocks gradually lose HP until they drop to 10% of their maximum condition.
The worse the negative maintenance value is, the faster the station decays.
Maintenance is mainly provided by station blocks, devices installed on blocks, and some cards cast on the station. But building them is not enough. For maintenance to work at full strength, the station must have enough adult colonists to actually carry out the repairs. An empty station cannot maintain itself.
Maintenance can also be boosted by cards.
